As a little girl, you often long for a strong relationship with your dad because he will set the tone for every man that comes along in the future. However, sometimes longing to be “daddy's little girl” can cause you to have a greater setback than you could've ever imagined. Your younger self will grow up fighting for validation with the adult version of you, and then eventually things began to be too much. I wanted to showcase what it’s been like growing up having a father but not having a dad.

This project was created by using Citrasolv ,Mod Podge, and wood panels to depict old memories of me and my dad as a child. Then, inside the treasure box is a handwritten letter response to a note that was left on Facebook from him on my 18th birthday. The letter from Facebook was placed on a skirt.
